URGENT: Help Me Stay Housed and Keep Going
Hi Everyone, I’ve rewritten this more times than I can count. Truthfully, asking for help does not come naturally to me. I’m usually the person trying to figure it out...
no clear cause. no good timing. always a little too committed. anyway.
It’s like living with roommates who don’t like you.
You wake up and they’re already in a mood—you didn’t do anything. That’s not relevant. You try to keep it calm: drink your water, mind your business, maybe today we just…coexist. They take that personally. Some days they’re loud about it, slamming doors, moving things, making a point. Other days? Quiet. Which somehow feels worse, because now you’re just waiting. So you adjust. You cancel plans so you don’t make it worse, then keep other plans so it doesn’t run your life. You get good at reading the room. The room is your body. And somehow, you still go outside, you still answer emails, you still act like this is a normal living situation.
Which…okay. That’s the arrangement. Not a good one. Just the one we’ve got. Not a fix. Not a strategy. We’re not evicting anybody today. Just a few things that make it slightly less…ridiculous.
Anyway.
It’s like living with someone who ruins the mood on purpose. You can’t remove them, but you can change the lighting. Lower the volume. Give yourself five square feet that feels intentional. This doesn’t fix anything. It just makes the room feel less hostile. Which, some days, is enough
→ Small acts of environmental rebellion.
A steady light for the days that ask more than you planned to give.
A soft, consistent burn. Nothing loud. Nothing performative.
The And Yet candle is made for the moments in between—when you’re not fixing anything, just sitting with it. The frosted glass, natural wax, and raw maple lid keep it grounded. The wooden wick adds a quiet crackle that feels more like presence than noise.
It doesn’t try to shift your mood. It meets you where you are.
Light it when you need a pause. Or when you don’t have the words.

Care instructions: Before burning, always trim the wooden wick to 1/8 inch. Keep the wax pool clear. Always use a candle holder, it should be heat resistant, sturdy, and large enough to contain any drips or melted wax. Burn candles in a well-ventilated room. Never burn a candle for longer than three hours, cool for at least two hours before relighting. Never leave a candle unattended, keep it away from anything that can catch fire. Keep candles out of the reach of children and pets. Don't burn a candle all the way down. Use a candle snuffer to extinguish a candle, it's the safest way to prevent wax from splattering.

Some days don’t need a plan. They need containment. You gather what helps, keep it within reach, and lower your expectations to something realistic. This is not ambition. This is strategy. Different skill set.
It’s like showing up to work with a situation no one else can see, and still being expected to perform. So you dress accordingly. Some days that means quiet, considered, put-together. Other days it means saying exactly what’s happening without explaining it twice.
Your brain gets involved. Not always helpfully. It loops, forgets, overcomplicates simple things. So you give it something else to hold. Journals. Sketchbooks. Cards. Puzzles. Small, contained wins. Nothing serious. Just enough to interrupt the spiral.
